Silver service for a steal

Last Saturday I was lucky enough to snap up this beautiful silver tea set at the Brisbane Arts Theatre costume sale. Only 15 bucks - what a steal! I've bought the silver polish, now I just need to find the time. I can't wait to use this for a dinner party!

Float like a butterfly

I think / I hope I found the perfect parkour shoes by accident today. They are super light with a really thin rubber sole. I can't wait to try them out on Saturday. I'm a bit dubious about the construction of the shoe; the sole may just tear away on the first wall run, but worth giving them a try anyway.

My name is Kat and I'm addicted to boots

I impulse-purchased these babies last Sunday after I broke the zipper off the boots I was wearing whilst doing them up. They were on their last legs anyway, but I was still sad because they were on my feet during many great experiences.
I really do love these new ones, and they'll be perfect for the rodeo we're going to next weekend in the country.
(This will be the last boots I buy this season - maybe)

A splash of Summer

The weather has cooled down dramatically in the last few days, so on the weekend I treated myself to some lovely Bird of Paradise flowers to bring a piece of the tropics inside.

Shoe-obsessed? ME??

Since I can't wear my gorgeous new heeled boots because of my ankle injury, I bought these cute flat ankle boots down in Sydney. I've worn them every day this week, I think I need to give them a rest now. Windsor Smith, RRP $139.95 IIRC. (I can't seem to find them on their website)

Happy Shoeday to me!

I'm a week early but today I treated myself to a new pair of boots for my birthday. I've been eyeing these off since about January when I saw them lined up with all the Winter stock at the client's HQ.
Sadly, I cannot take these little puppies out for a spin as I experience sharp pains in my right (injured) ankle when I wear, so I'll have to wait for probably another couple of weeks before I can wear them out. Sadface.

Fashionable purchase at Supanova

I bought this sweet skirt at Supanova on Sunday, and wore it to work yesterday with the Pulp Noir shoes from about 2 Winters ago and some stockings that I didn't remember I had until recently. I forgot the name of the store, but will edit to add this later when I find the business card. The store was called One Day in Paradise, and they have a load of cute stuff.
I love the bustle so much!!

Patina

Some more purchases from Woolloongabba Antiques. I really love the patina on these old pieces of cutlery, and the shapes. The nutcrackers is currently residing atop the TV in the kitchen, and the knives in a jar on the kitchen window sill.
I'd love to use the knives for serving cake, but one of my friends has a serious germ phobia, not sure how she would deal with that..

Alternate storag solution

Ton has a random collection of dice that he's been keeping in a coffee jar, but since we're revamping the bookshelf, I really didn't like this ugly container to sit on the shiny new shelf. I dropped by Woolloongabba Antiques and picked up this vintage jar that I really like. I remember my nan cooking preserves and storing them in this kind of jar. Ton has a few other collections of bits and bobs, so I will keep checking back there for more jars in this vein.

New Dining Chairs

I am so excited, I have been looking for new dining chairs for ages! I saw these at Mindi's and had to have them, too! They got delivered on Friday, and we had to put the legs on them last night, which was a major pain in the arse, but I am very happy that we have a new set of dining chairs!

Kitty Earrings

On Sunday we met a friend at South Bank for lunch. Since we arrived early, we went for a stroll of the markets and I found this adorable pair of cat earrings I just had to buy!

Unnecessary extravagance

I bought these gorgeous Alannah Hill leather gloves when we were down in Melbourne. I suspect the next time I will get to wear them is the next time I'm in Melbourne, or Europe. It really is too warm for these gloves up here, but I love them so!

I really do love these birthday deals a lot of retailers are doing for their VIP members. This time, I got a $20 voucher courtesy of Fiera.
I got this cute silver kitty ring holder thing for free. Neat!

Birthday Shoes

I'm a VIP member at Tony Bianco, and I highly recommend it to everyone. For your birthday they send you a special offer for 30%  (!!) off a purchase (however many shoes you want, just buy them all at once). What a deal! I was trying to choose between the cute peep-toe platform and the over-the-knee boot in suede and asked Ton for his input, but instead he decided to buy me both pairs for my up-coming birthday. He's the best!!
They arrived at work today, and are divine!

Steampunk Hat
